Jewelry Egg "Spirit of Ecstasy" by Rolls-Royce and Faberge

Interesting

Two renowned luxury houses have joined forces to create the second Faberge Imperial Egg since 1917.

For the first time in history, the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, a symbol of luxury that has graced the bonnet of every brand car since 1911, will be hidden away in a marvelous work by Faberge. The concept of the egg was developed by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars designers Stefan Monro and Alex Innes, the sketches were finalized by Faberge Chief Designer Liisa Talgren and brought to life by Faberge craftsman Paul Jones. Thus was born a modern interpretation of one of the most recognizable and coveted works of jewelry art.

The Spirit of Ecstasy, the second imperial egg produced since 1917, celebrates the history, heritage and legendary names of two century-old luxury homes. The egg is intended for the collection of the discerning connoisseur of both famous brands.

The Muse of Rolls-Royce "Spirit of Ecstasy", silently showing the way to each car of the brand for more than a century, is hidden in an elegant Faberge egg weighing 400 grams and 160 mm high. The base of the egg is made of 18-carat white gold, covered with purple guilloché enamel and hand engraved. Rose gold petals protect the rock crystal figurine hidden inside. Rose gold elements encrusted with 10 carats of diamonds fade into natural amethyst weighing over 390 carats. The mauve hue of the enamel and amethysts echoes the historic work of Faberge.

However, a unique work can impress not only with style and visual aesthetics - the "petals" of the egg are able to open and gather back into a precious bud. The mechanism that controls the "Spirit of Ecstasy" figure is designed using computer simulation, animation and micro engineering. This unique movement, a symbiosis of handcrafted art and modern technology, is probably the most complex in Faberge's history.

This is a unique moment in the history of our companies. The Spirit of Ecstasy Egg celebrates the union of two houses of unparalleled quality and design, bringing together their legendary symbols, the Faberge Egg and the Spirit of Ecstasy.
