Sotheby's jewelry auction broke all records

Interesting

We recently wrote about luxury jewelry with giant sapphires, which went under the hammer during the Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction in New York. However, another well-known auction house - Sotheby's - also did not stand aside from the sale of works of jewelry. What lovely jewels were purchased at this auction?

Lot number one was the luxurious Cartier ring from the collection of the famous New York philanthropists of the last century Ezra and Cecily Zilhas. It was sold for $ 3,6 million, 3,5 times its appraised value. The yellow gold frame is set with a 21,86-carat Colombian emerald, a square-cut and lavishly encrusted with diamonds.

By the way, this ring is far from the only piece of jewelry from the luxurious collection of Ezra and Cecily Zilhas, which went under the hammer that day. 29 pieces of jewelry that once belonged to a couple of patrons were presented at Sotheby's. Their total cost was $ 11,7 million!

So, here are our favorites for the auction! Fasten your seat belts, there will be a lot of jewelry!
