Review of the main jewelry trends of the spring-summer season

Jewelery and bijouterie

Designers in masks, shows without spectators, presentations on Zoom - the rules of the game have changed markedly this year, and brands had to deftly balance between the desire to create a colorful show and the need to adhere to WHO guidelines. Yes, the industry reeled like a model on unstable stilettos. She staggered, but held out ... Thanks to restrictions, for the first time in a long time, everyone's attention was focused not on influencers, decorations and dinner parties, but directly on the images presented on the catwalks from New York to Paris. And believe me, there was something to see!

Introducing our adorable 8: XNUMX super jewelry trends for the warm season

Crystals, minerals and stones

Left to right: Shows Acne Studios, Krizia

But not neatly cut, imitating precious stones, but large, chipped, cracked, deformed by the natural environment. Stones and crystals of natural shapes and textures need the most minimalistic embodiment: at the Acne Studios show, they were “mounted” into uneven metal plates, as if resembling the relief of a “copper mountain”, while at Krizia stones, like pebbles, were attached to laconic gold chains.

Short chains

Left to right: Givenchy shows, Peter Do

Massive chains have not gone out of fashion for many years, but every time designers manage to rethink this trend in a new way. In the next season, large chains are striving to take (and sometimes quite successfully) place choker - they almost closely wrap around the neck. The weaving itself has visually become as rough as possible, due to which the jewelry resembles industrial design objects.

Fabric jewelry

Left to right: Runway shows La Double J, Tsumori Chisato

This frankly summer trend periodically pops up on shows (often thanks to Dolce & Gabbana), but has not been in such a safe vanguard for a long time. The designers' love for textiles is expressed either modestly - in the form of threads braiding the metal frames of earrings and bracelets (like in Tsumori Chisato), or violently - in the form of full-fledged fabric inserts (like in La Double J).

Plastic and rubber

Left to right: Versace shows, Chloe, Isabel Marant

In the new season, multi-colored plastic jewelry ceased to be cheap jewelry and turned into an absolute must-have. Accent, massive, deliberately artificial shades (neon is in trend again!), They appear in the collections of Versace, Isabel Marant, Chloe. Especially relevant are rubberized harnesses, which are "twisted" either into choker necklaces or into bracelets. By the way, most of these decorations are made from recycled materials, so the trend towards sustainability is followed.

Marine themes

Left to right: Shows by Jason Wu, Krizia, Versace

Seashells, stars, corals, seahorses - all colors, materials and sizes have not given up their positions since last summer. However, resort-style jewelry has turned from elegant to catchy: the designers did not spare colorful enamel, stones and even rhinestones on them! The most “wet” was the Versace show: models led by Irina Shayk took to the catwalk with “wet” hair, skin shiny from water, in swimsuits and neon dresses with an “underwater” print.

Hair bands

Left to right: Shows Canel, Erdem

The accessory, which once had an exclusively applied function, now acts as a completely self-sufficient decoration. It is added to vest dresses and blank blouses - in Victorian looks like the Erdem runway - or to playful crop tops and "dressing gowns" like Chanel. As a general rule, the hair should be pulled back.

Pink

Chanel and Miu Miu shows

If the king of grunge Rick Owens has included pink in his collection, then this color can definitely be called the new black. From pastel to fuchsia and the shade of "Barbie" - not only clothes and accessories, but jewelry "blushed". At the Chanel show, for example, pink was presented in at least three different gradients.

Hyper long beads

Clockwise: Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior shows

The opposite trend to choker chains is deliberately long chains with pendants. Any style - from casual hippie chic (Dondup) to ethnic I'm sorry (Chloe). Dior presents dramatically elegant options. The main rule is: the longer the better. You can limit yourself to one "thread", or you can combine it with a short, contrasting necklace.
