Trend of the season: "blown" jewelry

Jewelery and bijouterie

Huge inflated decorations for the fall are not just normal, they are cool, daring, stylish! In the season, two opposite trends coexist - elegant minimalism and volumetric maximalism. Let's talk about it in more detail.

Fashion for voluminous, "blown" chains has been at the peak of popularity for several years, today earrings, rings and bracelets have entered the category of topical blown jewelry.

The main difference between full-weight and hollow jewelry is that the first is made of solid wire, while the second has a metal wire inside, which is smelted at one of the production stages using special chemical procedures.

In order to make a hollow chain, a metal wire is used, which is subsequently coated with gold or silver, after which the wire is removed, forming a void inside the product.

The heart of a hollow chain can be mild steel, brass, copper or aluminum. Iron dissolves easily when etched with a solution of hydrochloric acid, brass is etched with nitric acid, aluminum - with caustic soda.

If we talk about "blown" jewelry in general, they can be produced by electroplating - electroplating the core with a layer of gold, silver or platinum, followed by removal of the core, and using ready-made industrial semi-finished products - hollow tubes (usually applicable for chains).

There are other methods for the production of such products - using 3d technologies. The production process itself is very difficult, especially if the shape of the product is complicated. The master model of the future ring or necklace is developed according to a special principle, with special holes applied to it - at the modeling stage. During the so-called "waxing", a low-temperature wax is first injected into a rubber mold, and a high-temperature wax is injected on top of it. The waxes are then immersed in baths of hot liquids, in which the first layer of wax flows out, leaving voids.

Today, the production of complex, original "blown" jewelry is mainly owned by Italy, Turkey and China, however, Russian factories are beginning to produce such "blown" lines of jewelry.

The bulk of hollow jewelry is produced in large-scale factories with full control and compliance with all technological subtleties of the jewelry process.

"Inflated" jewelry allows fashionistas to purchase spectacular jewelry of large sizes at an attractive price. And their main advantage is that such products are ergonomic - they are easy and comfortable to wear. In addition, in recent months, both gold and silver have been incredibly growing in price, and if gold "blown" jewelry has always been a salvation for the budget, silver hollow jewelry will soon become it.

And in the trend - massiveness of jewelry - voluminous earrings, chokers, bracelets and necklaces. More specifically, in the top:

  • huge chains of gold and silver, which can be decorated with beads, shells and stones;
  • earrings in the form of voluminous hoops;
  • massive gold and silver necklaces intertwined in original patterns;
  • large rings with large stones, floral and animal motifs, which are preferable to wear 2-3 jewelry on the hand at once, moreover, they may differ in color and materials used;
  • wide bracelets that are in harmony with rings of the same design - such jewelry can be inlaid with stones and pearls. Such bracelets, by the way, can be worn not only on the wrist, but also on the shoulder and forearm;
  • pendants on ultra long massive chains.

Stylists note that when building your image from such trendy massive jewelry, it is important to focus on one thing: large earrings and a necklace, a large bracelet and a ring. And if this rule is respected, the image of the fall-winter season will be simply bombastic!

“Fashion, like architecture, is a matter of proportions,” said Coco Chanel. Massive "inflated" jewelry is "proportional" to the fashion of the new season.
