Secrets & Lights - A Mythical Journey Collection by Piaget

Venice and Samarkand are two completely different cities, but with all the differences they are united by one thing - the famous Great Silk Road. The centuries-old network of trade routes with a total length of about 6500 kilometers by land and sea served not only for the exchange of goods from different parts of Eurasia, but was also the most important intersection of the cultures of East and West. The elite Swiss brand Piaget, inspired by the dynamic diversity of the Great Silk Road, has created a new jewelry collection Secrets & Lights - A Mythical Journey.

Piaget has designed 94 pieces of jewelery with vibrant multi-coloured gemstones, paired with gold and diamonds to capture the whirlwind of cultures. However, the main focus of the collection is, of course, the two most legendary cities of the Great Silk Road - Venice and Samarkand.

According to the brand, these cities were chosen due to their exceptional cultural richness and architectural diversity. "Each city has its own unique style, which inspired Piaget craftsmen to create this collection," the company said in a press release.

Surrounded by the desert, Samarkand is an ancient city of Uzbekistan, and its name means “source of gold” in Persian. And the colors of the new Piaget collection are matched to the main square of the city (Registan), clearly echoing the theme of the desert.

For example, a long necklace with turquoise beads is perfectly complemented by a flower with diamond petals and an emerald in the center. The ring in the form of a flower with four petals in the center is adorned with a Colombian emerald. The bracelet with Arabic motifs is made of yellow gold, but it gives the impression of a light fabric with delicate accents of turquoise beads.

Marquise-cut gemstones, artfully woven into a precious metal ornament, become a magnificent airy necklace. Round earrings with a network of diamonds and moving drops of sapphires sparkle in the light at the slightest movement.

The Venetian part of the Piaget jewelery collection was inspired by the legendary combination of light, water and majestic architecture that gave rise to the beauty and mystery of the ancient Italian city.

For example, the collection has a bracelet made based on the famous Venetian masks. In the center of the composition is a fan made of turquoise feathers, made by Nelly Saunier, a well-known inlay master. An emerald flaunts in the center of a constellation of sapphires and diamonds.

The secret ring is also inspired by the lush and mysterious Venetian festivals. Opening the lid of gold and diamonds, you will see a bewitching night sky, made of champlevé enamel using the grand feu technique. Encrusted with red spinel and diamonds, the Palazzo ring takes us into the dazzling light of spotlights on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival, or perhaps into the royal box of the Teatro La Fenice.

Long earrings with geometrically arranged rubies are reminiscent of the windows of the palazzo along the Grand Canal. And the rose gold cuff bracelet, set with marquise-cut diamonds, subtly resembles the stone ornaments of the Bridge of Sighs.

In addition to jewelry, the collection includes 38 new watch models.
