In collaboration with the Swiss company #TIDE, Luminox is introducing two new collections of sustainable watches, with a case, bezel and strap made from recycled oceanic plastic.
The unique #tide ocean material is made from plastics from five islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Thailand, where local fishermen are trained in the proper collection and sorting of waste, which is then washed, shredded and recycled.
Mondaine, the parent company of Luminox, stands for sustainability and is one of the first watchmaking companies in the world to achieve zero carbon emissions. The Mondaine Group uses solar energy and environmentally friendly materials to manufacture its products. In addition, a portion of the company's revenue is donated to social and environmental non-profit organizations such as Fairventures Worldwide.
