For its own centenary, Gucci decided to take a step into the world of fine watchmaking. The company unexpectedly presented two models at once with a tourbillon - a complication that at first glance announces that the brand has entered the top league.
The Italian fashion house got the opportunity to implement an ambitious project to create the Gucci 25H collection thanks to the fact that it is part of the Kering group. It, along with Gucci, includes the brands Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Brioni. But, more importantly, the watch houses Girard-Perregaux and Ulysse Nardin, for which working with the most complex movements and creating watch masterpieces is a daily routine.
As a result, Gucci 25H managed to acquire its own movement, made in the Kering workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Perhaps, Italians can be considered trendsetters on the world catwalks, but Swiss manufactories remain the leaders in watchmaking. So the GG727.25.T caliber was created in the recognized center of the world watch industry.
The self-winding micro-rotor movement is extremely sophisticated. Despite the presence of the tourbillon, its height is only 3,7 mm. The power reserve of the GG727.25.T is 60 hours.
For the two versions of the Gucci 25H, 40 x 7,2 mm yellow gold and platinum cases were created. The sapphire crystal not only protects the dial, but also opens the movement thanks to a window in the case back. If the models are equipped with a really interesting caliber, why hide it?
As a complement to the case, the designers preferred metal bracelets - made of yellow gold and platinum, respectively. This brings the mood of the watch closer to a luxury jewelry accessory. In addition, the horizontal links of the bracelet echo the geometric pattern on the dial. Above him are unusual skeletonized rectangular hands with integrated dots covered with SuperLuminova.
Gucci 25H will be sold in the brand's jewelry and watch boutique on Place Vendome in Paris.
