In 2021, the Casio G-SHOCK brand delighted its fans with a long-awaited premiere: an "indestructible" watch in an octagonal steel case saw the light of day. Their name is G-SHOCK GM-2100, and this is a whole line at once.
Why were they expected so much? Probably because the octagonal shape of the watch case, once invented by the genius Gerald Gent and embodied in the iconic watch Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, not only does not lose its relevance, but, on the contrary, is becoming more and more popular and attractive for connoisseurs of wrist devices. And also, probably, because Casio G-SHOCK watches in cases made of composite material - reinforced polyurethane - have long been widely spread (and well-deserved love).
In every possible way in recent years promoting the advanced concept of Carbon Core Guard, according to which an extra strong and lightweight carbon fiber (carbon) is used, Japanese engineers and managers did not forget about stainless steel. In it, the clock is even more brutal - metal is metal. Steel is the most frequently used case material for luxury watches, and there are many models of the same Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in steel cases.
The Japanese brand has produced a model that is more than affordable, but no less stylish and clearly masculine. And there is nothing to say about the functionality. However, in order.

The creators carefully and ingeniously approached the processing of numerous surfaces: the main part of the case is mirror-polished, the bezel is matte, which is achieved through the so-called rough brushing. This method consists in "scraping" the metal (of course, by machine) with special brushes with fairly thick and hard threads. As a result, the surface acquires a characteristic pattern, in our case - in the military style, so desired by men. The combination of polished and brushed surfaces creates a special effect. Case diameter is 44,4 mm, thickness - 11,8 mm. The back cover is also made of stainless steel (fixed with four screws), the glass is mineral, the bracelet is made of polymer. Water resistance, like all G-SHOCK - 200 m; the shockproof properties of the brand are fully available.
Clock face. Indication - analog-digital: powerful hour and minute hands, indices, exquisite retrograde hand of the day of the week, other indicators (more on them later) - in a trapezoidal window. The watch is equipped with double backlighting - electroluminescent and non-edged. As for the design of the dial, here the bezel continues to be processed, as if “filling” the octagonal ring of the latter. Very impressive!
