Wrist Watch Recon Point Man by company Luminox were developed with the active participation of Andrea Micheli, a veteran of the Swiss Army (Swiss Army Military Security NCO), and now a shooting instructor and renowned journalist. The watch is intended for the military personnel of the reconnaissance and sabotage units and is intended for use in the field conditions. But this does not mean at all that they are suitable exclusively for special forces and other power units. Men who cannot imagine their life without extreme tourism, hunters, divers and sportsmen will also appreciate all the functions of this model!
The watch has a matte black case with a diameter of 45 mm, made of lightweight and durable polycarbonate, which is additionally reinforced with carbon fiber. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal is scratch and abrasion resistant.
In addition to using the basic functions of determining the time and current date (a small window at 3 o'clock), the Recon Point Man watch can be used as a simple and effective means of navigation on the ground. The location will help you determine the compass, and the tachymeter scale will help you measure your speed.
If you are in the northern hemisphere, it is enough to position the watch horizontally with the hour hand pointing towards the sun. Rotating the bezel, set the S (South) mark midway between the hour hand and the 12 o'clock position (noon). The marks on the bezel indicate the cardinal directions: N - North, S - South, W - West, and E - East. An additional scale with 10-degree increments and the corresponding numeric markings on the bezel will help you get an accurate route.
A base distance of 50 meters is used to determine the walking speed. It is necessary to calculate in advance how many steps will be required to overcome this distance in the case of normal, fast walking and running. Average 75 steps. The counting of steps should be started at the moment the second hand crosses the 12 o'clock position. After overcoming the 50-meter segment, the second hand will show the speed on the tachymeter scale. For example, if it took 50 seconds to overcome 40 meters, then the speed is 4,5 km / h.
Recall that all Luminox watches use a patented illumination system - LLT (Luminox Light Technology), made of tubes and capsules made of borosilicate glass, filled with gas and embedded in the hands and indexes. Such illumination does not require an external recharging source and, most importantly, it can work uninterruptedly for up to 25 years. In addition, it is perfectly visible in complete darkness, which means that it will not be difficult to determine the time in conditions of insufficient visibility.
The shockproof case is water resistant up to 200 meters (that is, the watch promises to withstand a dive to a depth of 20 real meters under normal conditions). A reliable Ronda 515 HH6 quartz movement is installed inside.
The watch is equipped with a perforated polyurethane strap.
