By the spring, the American company Fossil has released a large number of new watches, addressed to both women and men, and dedicated to California, its spirit, architecture, nature and mood.
Let's start our review with the new ladies' collection GABBY. This 34mm quartz watch is inspired by mid-XNUMXth century design trends and iconic Palm Springs architecture. Smooth contours, a minimalistic dial with three hands and a date window, adjusted proportions of the case and bracelet - all this creates the look of a typical urban watch that combines functionality and grace. Available in pure steel and rose or yellow gold PVD, solid or bi-color.
The CARLIE MINI collection of quartz watches is even more minimalistic: the case diameter is 28 mm, and the functionality is hours, minutes and seconds. Available on a leather strap and a Milanese bracelet, all with rose gold PVD, in impressive noble gray and luxe blue colors, with or without crystal trim.
The JACQUELINE quartz watch is made in the same magnificent combination of blue and rose-gold. Their diameter is larger - 36 mm, but the address to the fair sex remains undeniable. The date has also returned to the three hands, in a round window at 6 o'clock.
But three switches with the date SCARLETTE MICRO, again 28 mm (and also quartz), amaze with a radiant shine, reinforced by a ring of crystals on the bezel, which is in the steel color of the case and bracelet, which is in the color of pink gold).
All premieres of the Fossil brand book for women are 50-meter waterproof, i.e. in any of these watches you can swim without risk of damaging them. The spring season will be followed by the summer season, and there is no doubt that the proposed models will remain relevant not only for the city, not only for every day and for going out, but also for a beach holiday.
Fossil's new products for spring 2021, designed for the stronger sex, also have a special shade of blue - bright and deep. Such, for example, is the new quartz three-point switch with a date from the FB-01 collection. By the way, this is a typical diving option, with water protection up to 100 m, which allows not only swimming, but even diving (albeit shallow, without scuba gear). It also features a fluted rotatable bezel with a 60-minute scale in blue. The hands and markers are luminescent, the 42-mm case is made of steel, and the middle row of links of the three-row bracelet is gilded.
The same luxurious blue (dial and leather strap) combined with rose gold PVD (case) impresses in two 44mm quartz models, the urban (THE MINIMALIST three hands) and the sporty (NEUTRA chronograph). There is also an uncoated version of the NEUTRA chronograph with leather strap; the brown color of the latter is in perfect harmony with the "Californian" blue dial.
The water-resistance of these models is 50 meters. This is the same for the 42-mm men's quartz watch of the new EVERETT collection, in which, perhaps, the main thing is attention to detail, a combination of vintage style and modern trends. There are three versions of these steel three hands with date, differing in the color scheme of the bracelet - without coating, with gray or black PVD coating.
Another “male” debut from Fossil is the Architect watch from the new ARC-02 collection. The very name of both the collection and the model speaks unambiguously of a vintage style inspired by architecture - and architecture from the mid-twentieth century.
The functionality of this massive (44 mm) steel watch is also attractive: in addition to the three hands, the quartz movement provides the date and the day of the week (with arrow indicators, which adequately corresponds to the retro style), as well as the operation of the 24-hour hand, which acts as a “day /night". Available with a white or black dial, leather strap or steel bracelet. The water resistance is also 50 meters.
The new FORRESTER quartz chronograph is quite brutal: the case diameter is 46 mm plus the All Black design (case and dial), perhaps the brown strap, which, however, only gives an additional "zest" to this unambiguously sporty model. Another variation of the All Black style is the 44 mm three-hand TOWNSMAN, the only watch with a mechanical caliber, self-winding among Fossil's spring innovations. There is a black case and a bracelet, but on the dial there is, along with black accents and a white peripheral ring, a large window in the central part, through which you can admire the work of that very mechanism. The water resistance of both "black" cases is the classic 50 m.
Well, new items - for every taste, isn't it? But anyway, this is spring and this is California!
It remains to add that the Fossil brand has also prepared several gift sets for the season, in which graceful bracelets are added to the watches, made in the same style, strict, sporty or romantic, but invariably spring.
