Oris Aquis Depth Gauge men's watch

Wrist Watch

It is difficult to surprise divers and submariners in the 21st century. This statement also applies to watches. There are so many of them, choose any - and some watches are capable of something that is even hard to imagine!

The Swiss company Oris has earned the trust of people from around the world thanks to its impeccable quality. Since 1904, Oris has been making watches you can rely on under any circumstances. A novelty from Oris - a model called Aquis Depth Gauge, will surprise even experienced divers.

The name of this model, translated into the great and mighty, sounds nice: “Depth gauge of waters”, where “aquis” (Latin) is the plural of the word “water”, and “Depth Gauge” (English) means “depth gauge”. This depth gauge has become the pearl of this watch, because it is a completely new design, such depth gauges have not yet been released.

Take a closer look at the steel case of this watch, which is 46 mm in diameter. At the 12 o'clock position you will see a small hole providing access to the depth gauge channel. Yes, you got it right! The depth gauge, no matter how surprising it may sound, is powered by water! It would seem that it is simply unthinkable - on purpose to pass water into the watch for scuba diving. But, there is a good reason for that. The work of all other depth gauges is based on inertia, they will all show you a depth mark passed almost seven or eight seconds ago. For serious divers, such an error is unacceptable. Today, Oris has revolutionized wristwatch depth gauges, and professionals can now operate with advanced equipment on the wrist.

The depth gauge channel is separated from the dial by a layer of rubber, and the sapphire crystal covering the black dial is 50% thicker than any ordinary glass. The hands and numerals of the dial are illuminated in the dark thanks to a special compound carefully applied by Oris.

The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement Oris 733 based on the SW 200-1 with a power reserve of 38 hours.

The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge gives you a sense of calm. Akin to what a person feels sitting on a rock by the ocean or sea. A sharp sword sleeps in a man's scabbard, there is no one around. And even if someone with hostile intentions appears, then do not blow their heads off. It is the same with this model - they did not spare steel, the thickness of the case is able to withstand heavy loads and damage.

With the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge, you can dive to quite impressive depths, with a water resistance of up to 500 meters. The screw-down case back has a useful scale to convert meters to feet.

The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch comes with a steel bracelet, but an additional rubber strap is waiting for the future owner's watch.

The watch is equipped with a safety system against spontaneous unfastening of the strap - the so-called "anchor" on the strap and bracelet will always keep the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge in its place.

The watch itself and its accessories are enclosed in a waterproof box. Inside you will find not only a watch and an additional bracelet, but also a watch certificate with detailed instructions for it, a tool for replacing the strap with a bracelet, and a special device for cleaning the watch's sapphire glass.

The Aquis Depth Gauge watch surprises not only with its revolutionary depth gauge. They are also surprising by the fact that on land, any person can wear them easily and naturally. Divers have repeatedly encountered this strange sensation when, outside of diving, far from the depths that beckon with their mystery, their watches seemed to be idle on their wrists. In those watches, the depth gauge occupied half the dial and it seemed that such a waterproof watch had no place on land at all. With Aquis Depth Gauge it's different. The depth gauge here occupies a small part of the dial and does not interfere in everyday life.

Divers, both amateurs and professionals, know perfectly well how it is to be left alone with the power of water. To feel how small a person is in this vast world of nature. And those who have never ventured into the unknown depths with scuba gear can already today catch the notes of this activity without leaving their home or office. To do this, just watch the video dedicated to the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch.
