Oris men's watch from the Aquis collection

Wrist Watch

Man, having firmly established himself on land, seeks to explore everything else, even the most hidden corners of the Earth. Remaining so until the end and unconquered, the depths of the seas and oceans do not cease to excite the minds of brave scientists, ordinary enthusiasts, and simply lovers of extreme sports. Wristwatches are among the mandatory items of diver's equipment. From a Swiss brand Oris there is a model that is ready to dive on 500 meters. Are you ready?

Of course, no one swims with scuba diving to a depth of 500 meters (except perhaps a few). This designation indicates which pressure can withstand hours at rest at a specified depth. But at a standard 40 meters, you can swing your arms as much as you like - the watch will easily endure any sudden movements. How do they do it? More on that below...

On opaque surface of the case and bracelet, connoisseurs with a 90% probability will determine that in the production of this watch was used Titanium. As you know, this metal is lightweight and highly resistant to corrosion and is successfully used in the watch industry.

It would seem that the impressive diameter of the case - 46 mm - allows you to fit quite a lot of information on the dial, but the designers limited themselves to a minimum: a small window date at 6 o'clock and separate counter for second hand at 9 o'clock.

Traditional diving watch elements:

  • Durable glass (in these models it is sapphire, domed, with an internal anti-reflective coating).
  • Luminescent hands and indexes (in this case they are coated with Superluminova BG W9).
  • Ceramic bezel with large, well-read numbers, rotating in one direction.
  • Screwing crown with protection.
  • High level water protection. In this model, it is equal to 500 meters. Agree, it sounds amazing!

But the presence automatic helium valve - this is a rarity that you will not find in ordinary diving watches of the “middle hand”. A little explanation: the helium decompression valve is a mechanism for equalizing the atmospheric pressure inside the watch (release helium from the case) after a deep dive. In a word, this is a cool "chip" in a watch for professional divers.

Depending on the model, the watch can be equipped with a steel bracelet or a rubber strap. The folding clasp is equipped with a special locking system that will protect against accidental unfastening. In addition, this clasp is very convenient for the strap, as it allows you to adjust its length.

For the accuracy of the readings "in response" self-winding movement - caliber Oris 743 (based on SW 220). Power reserve 38 hours. All Oris watches are equipped with a bi-directional rotating red rotor. In many models, a transparent case back allows you to observe the operation of the mechanism. In this model, they decided to hide the "wrong side". However, the opaque back cover has its advantages. The Oris craftsmen used it not only to present information about the watch - around the brand logo is placed meters to feet scale.

Even novice divers know that both meters and feet are used to measure depth.

1 foot = 0,3048 meters

A foot is a unit of length in the English system of measures. Its exact linear value varies from country to country. In 1958, at the conference of English-speaking countries, the participating countries unified their units of measurement. So the "international" foot became equal to 0,3048 meters.

Such watches simply cannot be in standard packaging. Therefore, boxing, similar to a retro helmet for a scuba diver, came in handy!
