It's official - ORIS has become a climate neutral company

The independent organization ClimatePartner, the world's leading expert in the fight against climate change, has officially recognized ORIS as a climate friendly company.
It is important to clarify that this status can be obtained only if greenhouse gas emissions are reduced or compensated in their pure form.

ORIS has been certified to offset more than 2500 tonnes of CO2 through the Clean ocean project, which has prevented nearly a billion plastic bottles from entering the ocean, with 10 kg of plastic waste for every tonne of carbon offset.

In addition, at its headquarters in Hölstein, ORIS is installing solar panels that will generate 60% of the electricity, and encourages all suppliers and partners to follow suit and improve their sustainable development practices.

Obtaining the status of a climate neutral company has become the main mission for ORIS this year. Rolf Studer, CEO of ORIS, played an important role in achieving this goal:

“Mechanical watches have virtually no impact on the environment as they are designed to last. But this is not enough. As a company, we need to make sure that what we do is not only neutral but also positive for the environment. We believe this is feasible and will continue to lead the Change for the Better initiative in Swiss watchmaking. ”
