ORIS Important Update Aquis Date Caliber 400

Wrist Watch

The model, first presented in December 2020, almost instantly won the sympathy of buyers and became one of the main stars of the ORIS catalog. Then the debut Aquis with the new in-house caliber 400 was produced in a 43,5 mm case, and now ORIS offers as many as three updated models in a 41,5 mm steel case.

Compared to its big brother, the updated Aquis has a diameter of 41,5 mm, a thickness of about 12 mm and a body length of about 48 mm, which allows it to be as comfortable as possible on the wrist, regardless of its size. In terms of design, it is consistently good. Worth noting is the modern and slightly orthodox shape of the Aquis, with flat sides, heavy, wide safety caps, and short, angled semi-integrated lugs. These unique proportions can be misleading, but in practice the Aquis series looks significantly more compact on the wrist than more traditional diver styles.

The same high degree of water resistance remained the same - 300 meters.

The position of the dial is also practically unchanged. The most noticeable difference is the position of the date window at 6 o'clock, as well as the presence of the line “5 days”.

The dial is available in three deep shades with a gradient: a lighter tone in the center and an almost black tint on the outer periphery, providing a dynamic and fluid color scheme. Buyers are offered anthracite gray, ocean blue and deep emerald colors.

It is, of course, important to mention the model's trademark - its own ORIS 400 caliber. Running at 4 Hz, providing a power reserve of about 5 days and offering a 10-year service interval, the Caliber 400 is a very powerful automatic movement.
