Why Raymond Weil watches are worthy of your attention

Wrist Watch

The Raymond Weil watch brand is quite young: the Genevan Raymond Weil founded the company in his name in 1976. But the brand's credibility is high, it is a recognized manufacturer of quality watches belonging to the segment of “affordable luxury”. In the era of globalization - holdings, groups, etc. - the company remains independent, its motto is Independence is a State of Mind: "Independence is a state of mind." Eli Bernheim, the founder's grandson, says: “The more brands that go under someone’s wing, the more space for us as independent people to act.”

As a matter of fact, it is worth paying attention to literally all watches from the extensive Raymond Weil brand book. Today, from all this variety, we have selected for you five models that deserve the attention of men and women.

Freelancer

Recall that a freelancer is a person who works (and generally acts) independently of any official structures. The spirit of freedom is also the spirit of the Raymond Weil brand, and it is no coincidence that the Freelancer collection, first presented in 2007, became the flagship for the brand. Everything in this model is extremely stylish: a 42-mm case (water resistance 100 m) made of steel, with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, a similarly made Jubilee bracelet, sapphire crystals on both sides, and above all - the dial. It is multi-level, in several beautiful shades of blue, with luminescent hands and markers, and with an original retrograde date display.

The automatic caliber RW4250, based on the well-known for its reliability Sellita SW200 and significantly modified by the craftsmen of Raymond Weil, is responsible for the work of the watch.

Maestro moon phase

One of the main hobbies of the company is music, and of all genres, from classical opera to hard rock. Many models have been released on relevant topics, and the name Maestro, one might say, unites all genres in general. The romance of the finely finished blue dial and Milanese bracelet is powerfully complemented by perhaps the most poetic of all watchmaking complications, the moon phase indicator.

The 40mm steel case (50m water resistance) qualifies this watch as a unisex watch. The quality of the automatic caliber RW4280 (the basic one, again, Sellita) has been tested by time, and its work can be admired through the sapphire crystal of the case back. Of course, the front glass is also sapphire.

Parsifal

The other three models in our selection are purely feminine, and the first reflects Raymond Weil's already noted connection to the world of music. Parsifal is a character in the medieval epic, the hero of Wagner's opera of the same name. The 30mm double date watch (quartz movement) is ultra-thin - only 5,9mm - and incredibly sophisticated. The case and elegant bracelet are made of steel, the dial (under the sapphire crystal) is made of mother-of-pearl. The model is set with 56 diamonds, their weight is 0,13 carats. The water resistance of the case is 50 m. The watch is beautiful, first of all, as a refined piece of jewelry, poetic and accurately showing the time.

Shine

Two versions of a sophisticated ladies' model in a 32 mm steel case (water resistance 50 m) on a noble black satin strap. The set also includes a beautiful and comfortable steel bracelet, and replacement is easy and simple thanks to the patented strap change system. Let's pay attention to the originally arranged fastening of the strap / bracelet to the case and, of course, to the dial, protected by a sapphire crystal, made of mother-of-pearl and decorated with 6 diamonds (0,02 carats). The quartz movement provides hour, minute and date displays.

The differences are that the hands and applied Roman numerals of the first version are silver, and the second is gilded; in addition, the replaceable bracelet of the second version is bicolor, with a number of gold-plated links. Accordingly, the price also differs, although not much.
