The Finnish company Suunto, a manufacturer of innovative instruments for explorers and adventurers, was founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen. He developed a method for mass production of precise and compact wrist compasses, which immediately became the bestseller of the new brand. The main difference between Suunto 7 and the company's usual line of watches is the precise balance between sports and everyday functions, the control of which is optimized into a single interface. Traditionally, the device provides more than 70 sports modes for different sports, including running, cycling, skiing and others - including such exotic as surfing and, for example, squash. At the same time, the watch will become an indispensable assistant in everyday life and at work, thanks to a variety of smart functions that can be expanded almost endlessly through the application store.
A full-fledged calendar with a to-do list, a weather forecast and a selection of the latest news, music and movie management, contactless payment - this is just a basic list of possibilities. Suunto 7 is equipped with a beautiful OLED touch-screen display for a high-quality display of all this.
Another important function is full-fledged work with offline maps, which are saved on the watch and allow you to access them without access to the Internet. You can also select a view of Suunto's so-called heat maps, which show popular routes for a wide variety of sports.
The model operates autonomously on battery power for up to 12 hours in continuous GPS tracking mode. The designers tested the watch for shock resistance, water resistance up to 50 meters and retention of tightness and performance when immersed in dirt.
