Casio has unveiled a new model developed in collaboration with the NBA star and the first Japanese basketball player in the American league, Rui Hachimura. The new GM-110RH, based on the GM-110, is housed in a shockproof case and complemented by a bracelet with yellow, red and green accents, echoing the colors of the national flag of Benin, where Hachimura was born:
“The watch is inspired by my African roots. The design of the strap and dial reflects recognizable elements of Benin culture and I am extremely pleased with how Casio has brought my ideas to life. "
The new watch comes with a main black resin strap and an interchangeable strap with a kente pattern inspired by the region's traditional clothing. The iconic Hachimura Black Samurai logo, representing his name and number on the T-shirt, is engraved on the case back and on the strap buckle.
