The plant is classified as a cereal and grown in warm countries with subtropical and tropical climatic conditions, but the real homeland of lemongrass is India. The oil has a dark yellow color and a pleasant lemon aroma.

Mask against hair loss

Hair loss is a normal and natural process. In place of the old, new ones grow, and this is how renewal occurs. Every day, each person loses about 100 hairs, this is considered the norm. But in the case when the indicator rises above the specified number, there is cause for concern. This problem is very common, because the hair is constantly exposed to harmful effects from the environment. Women who live in megacities, where air pollution is many times higher than the norm, suffer especially hard.

A mask with lemongrass oil, which can be prepared at home without much effort, will help to cope with this problem. In order to make it, we need the following ingredients:

  • 1 bulb medium size;
  • 4 drops of lemongrass essential oil;
  • 2 tbsp. l. kefir;
  • 2 drops of peppermint essential oil.

Method of preparation:

  1. First you need to bring the onion into the state we need, namely: squeeze the juice out of it. This can be done using a meat grinder or a blender with a special nozzle. Be sure to cut the onion into 4 parts, so it will be more convenient to work with it.
  2. After you have made the gruel, you need to strain it through cheesecloth or a very fine strainer. Only the juice is needed, so the remaining solid parts can be thrown away immediately.
  3. Kefir must first be heated in a water bath, and then added to the onion pomace container.
  4. Thoroughly mix the components, then alternately drip the essential oils of lemongrass and mint.
  5. The mask is ready.

You need to apply the product on dry, unwashed hair, since the onion acts quite aggressively on the skin if it is cleansed of the secretions of the sebaceous glands.

Distribute it evenly over the entire surface of the head and the length of the hair, then cover the curls with plastic wrap and insulate with a towel. Keep the mask for 25 minutes, then rinse with warm water and shampoo. After the procedure, it is recommended to dry the hair naturally.

Lemongrass Oil Reviews

I have been fond of hair care with fatty and essential oils for a long time and have tried many different ones. Somehow, essential oils didn’t suit me - any concentrated smell became boring and I couldn’t stand them (ylang-ylang was especially boring). But Lemongrass is different! The smell is very fresh and you need quite a bit of oil - concentrated. I use it in oil masks. The recipe is this: I heat castor oil in a water bath (to make it thinner), pour in a little burdock oil, liquid vitamins A and E and 8 drops of lemongrass essential oil (I can add a few more drops of orange oil - in general, the smell is completely incomparable, it smells like candy ). I apply the mask on dry hair, warm it with a bag and a hat, and walk like this for about 2 hours. Then I wash it off. I do this mask 2-3 times a week. Her hair is amazing after! They just sparkle!! And the smell is very pleasant. Thanks to complex care, my hair began to grow 2 times faster, it doesn’t split, it shines well and becomes thicker (the “undercoat” grows) - in addition to oil masks, I drink brewer’s yeast and calcium in courses. I highly recommend lemongrass oil - it gives the hair extra shine and the smell is very pleasant, not cloying and not boring!

This oil is considered a wonderful remedy for oily skin with enlarged pores. It helps shrink pores and improves elasticity. I have combination skin. In winter, this does not cause trouble for me, but in summer I have to deal with greasiness in the nose and chin. In its pure form, I do not advise using this oil: its sharp, rich aroma stings the eyes, they water, and the skin tingles noticeably. It is better to add a drop of lemongrass essential oil to your face wash or cream. But first, do a test to see if you are allergic to this remedy. You can add this oil to the water when rinsing your hair - reduces oiliness. The main thing is not to overdo it with the amount of oil. I also use this oil for massage: it stimulates blood circulation and is recommended for the prevention and treatment of cellulite. I once read that the aroma of lemongrass essential oil invigorates. But it causes excessive nervousness in me, so I do not like to use it before bedtime. These are not all the beneficial properties of this essential oil. I only wrote about the ones that are important to me. Additional information about it can be found on the Internet, perhaps you will find something for yourself.

Pros: Smells good, no chemical smells that make you sick. Creates mood and atmosphere. Disadvantages: For some, the smell is too strong, and for some, it affects the vocal cords. I have tried many essential oils, in my work they are essential. Lemongrass creates a mood and a special atmosphere for me personally. Plus a good antiseptic. With some people, it has a bad effect on the voice, so far everything is fine with me. But a massage with a couple of drops of lemongrass creates a great mood.

Lemongrass oil is a natural remedy for the beauty of the face and hair. Masks with it provide professional care, while being completely natural. But remember that all recipes must be followed exactly, not exceeding the dose in the hope that the effect will be better and faster. An overdose can be very harmful, so take care of yourself.
