Swiss watch brand Hublot has a new partner. It was the Chinese architect, founder of the architectural bureau MAD Architects Ma Yansong (Chinese. 马岩松; English Mǎ Yánsōng).
Ma is best known for focusing his designs on the emotional and spiritual needs of people, blurring the boundaries between man and nature. He was born in 1975 in Beijing. In 2002 he received a master's degree from Yale University. In 2008, he was included in the list of 20 most influential young architects according to ICON magazine. A year later he was included in the top 10 most creative people in the world of architecture. In 2014, he received the Young Global Leaders Award from the World Economic Forum.
Ma Yansong is currently an associate professor at Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Tsinghua University and Peking University. Sees architecture as a means of reconnecting man with nature in respect and harmony.
Ma Yansong's most famous architectural works include the Harbin Opera House and the Absolute Towers in Toronto.
