FPJourne FFC - a new version of the watch with a mechanical hand

Wrist Watch

François-Paul Journe re-released the model for Only Watch 2021, making it available to a wider audience (a single watch was sold at auction for 4,5 million francs). The main thing remains the same - the display of time with the help of a hand on the dial. The idea was born during a conversation between the watchmaker and director Francis Ford Coppola, who decided to meet Journe after his wife gave him a watch from the brand.

The hand, as an indicator of time, repeats the drawing of a mechanical prosthesis made by the French surgeon Ambroise Pare (1510-1590).

The automaton is housed in a 42 x 10,7 mm case, this time made of platinum (for Only Watch, the case was made of tantalum). The hand and the rotating minute ring are controlled by the automatic caliber FPJourne 1300.3 with a power reserve of 5 days.
