The result of collaboration between the Japanese watch company and a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the nature of the Galapagos Islands is a special edition GW-B5600CD made of bioplastic. The black and blue model is dedicated to the giant hammerhead shark, the black and green one is dedicated to the Galapagos finches (or Darwin's finches), and the rich yellow one is dedicated to the elephant turtle. The silhouettes of these animals can be seen in the patterns around the dial, on the engraving of the case back, as well as in the images that appear when the backlight is activated.
