In 2014, Oris introduced the first watch to combine a mechanical altimeter with a self-winding movement. In 2023, the ProPilot Altimeter returns with a lighter and thinner body (thickness reduced by 1mm).
The body is made of carbon fibers treated with a new technology developed by 9T Labs (a division of ETH Zurich). More precisely, it is a composite of carbon fiber and polymer, which is called PEKK. Together they form a material that is as light as plastic, yet very strong.
The case diameter remained the same - 47 mm. Inside is caliber 793 with an extended power reserve of up to 56 hours. The model is presented in versions with a scale in meters and feet. The capabilities of the altimeter have also been improved. If earlier the clock measured the height up to 4500 m, now it is up to 6 m.
