In 1743, King Charles of Bourbon and his wife Amalia of Saxony decided to establish a porcelain manufacturing center in their Reggia di Capodimonte, driven by the desire to obtain porcelain similar to the German produced in Meissen.

This is how the Royal Capodimonte Factory was born, whose products were later considered even larger than German and French ones.
