BlueRock Diamonds mines largest diamond in its history

Interesting

A week after mining the 21,6 carat diamond, BlueRock Diamonds recovered the 58,6 carat gemstone from the Kareevlei diamond mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa.

The stone has the highest D color, but the diamond's price (which would be "significant" according to company chairman Mike Houston) could be adversely affected by the presence of black sulfide inclusions in the stone.

The diamond is expected to be sold during the company's August auction.

“The final cost will depend on the buyer's confidence in the quality of the diamonds that can be obtained from this diamond,” Houston added.
