Pablo Lücker and Trophy by Gassan unveil the world's smallest work of art on a diamond

Pablo Luker applied 13 diamonds to the surface of the original Dream Script design in the shape of a heart Interesting

Luxury jewelry brand Trophy by Gassan and popular Dutch artist Pablo Lücker presented the HE(ART) Diamond Collection at the Amsterdam Luxury Show last month. Trophy by Gassan and Lücker have entered into a creative alliance to create exclusive diamonds. Former soccer player and diamond expert Calvin Yong-a-Ping, who became CEO of Gassan, and Lücker developed the concept of the collection in 8 months. The surface of thirteen diamonds "Gassan 121" patented cut with 121 facets acted as a "canvas".

Each stone was laser engraved with an original Dream Script heart-shaped pattern. According to his sketches, the artist applied drawings on twelve 1-carat diamonds and one 2,75-carat diamond using a laser. The result was the world's smallest work of art ever created on the edge of a diamond.

“Many people know that diamond is the hardest mineral in the world. A special laser is needed to engrave the pattern without damaging the stone. This must be done in a dedicated laboratory,” Lücker explained.

The "canvas" size is about 3,5mm

To get an idea of the artist's "canvas" size, consider that a 1-carat round diamond is 6,4mm in diameter. The ideal proportion of the flat facet that we see when looking at a round diamond is about 55% of the total diameter. This means that the size of the "canvas" is about 3,5mm.

For Lücker, the resulting collection is heritage and craftsmanship combined with art and luxury design.

“Thirteen hearts, thirteen love stories, all unique,” said Lücker. “Seven generations of artists in my family and five generations of jewelers in the Gassan family.”
