The production of porcelain flowers, modeled and hand-made after natural flowers, was started by the Vincennes factory in 1741. It was one of the first specializations of the factory, established on July 24, 1740.
Although the Meissen factory was the first in Europe to produce such products, the quality of Vincennes products, the richness of the chromatic scale, obtained through the skill of color firing at low temperatures, put the manufactory immediately in the first place.

Merchants quickly fell in love with these exquisite and aristocratic objects, which they mounted and placed in various ways: on candelabra, inkwells, in the form of fittings for Saxon porcelain figurines and, in the form of bouquets, arranged in vases, boxes, flower pots, on which specialized manufactory Vincennes, and then Sevres.

The artists of Sèvres were not always mere color copiers. In the second half of the 19th century, a radical transformation of floral decoration took place, some decorations created in Sevres at that time defied any classification.
Artists were looking for new decorative forms, not blind imitation of natural colors.
Approximately in the same period, the Italian, German schools of making porcelain decor developed, they undoubtedly also carry aesthetic and artistic value, but the French flowers from Sevres have no equal!
