We offer you to get acquainted with the wonders made of glass. Artists from Taiwan named their creative workshop after LIULI.
Founded in 1987 by renowned glass artists Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi, LIULI has grown from a modest workshop in Taiwan to Asia's leading crystal glassware brand.
LIULI is a Han Dynasty Chinese term for the art of glass, which was chosen in honor of the wealth of Chinese heritage and culture. Records show that the artisans of the Han Dynasty were highly skilled lost-wax casting (pâte de verre) craftsmen, but the craft was subsequently lost and forgotten. Yang and Chan revived this craft.
For Yang, each flower is an exploration of life. Blooming moment, timeless beauty
Pâte de verre is a process in which a mold is made and then covered with a layer of refractory plaster. Once the plaster is dry, the wax is heated until it becomes liquid and runs off. The resulting mold is filled with molten glass.
The advantage of this technique is that it allows the finest details to be included in the final works of art and expands the scope for the artist's unique self-expression.
Each item takes six to eight months to create. LIULI releases a limited number of works to create an environment where our artists are constantly involved in the creative process and the creation process does not become a chore.
There is a museum in Shanghai where the most outstanding works of the Liuli company are collected. And even the museum building itself looks fabulous.
