In anticipation of the Chinese New Year, G-SHOCK showed a special version of the MTG-B3000CX-9A in gold with bright scarlet splashes. The design was inspired by the Moon Rabbit, one of the heroes of Chinese folklore and a symbol of Chinese culture. This is indicated by the texture of the bezel and dial, which mimics the surface of the moon.
Other embellishments include an engraved image of a rabbit with a kite on the caseback, created by artist Chen Wangsong (the kite symbolizes the exploration of the sky and the courage of those for whom it has become a life's work).
The internals and specifications of the model (including Triple G Resist, Tough Solar and Multi Band 6 technology) remain unchanged.
The cost of the New Year's version of the MTG-B3000CX-9A is approximately 1 USD.
