Meet the beautiful summer watch: CASIO G-SHOCK GMA-S2100

Wrist Watch

In early 2021, Casio expanded its G-SHOCK brand with a new line: meet the GMA-S2100 watch! This is a "lightweight" version of the well-known GA-2100 series, unofficially named CasiOak - by its octagonal bezel configuration, reminiscent of that of the famous Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. The new GMA-S2100 have already received the name Mini CasiOak, since they are somewhat smaller in size and weight: 46,2 x 42,9 x 11,2 mm, 41 g (versus 48,5 x 45,4 x 11,8 mm, 51 d for the prototype).

Let's make a reservation right away that this “miniaturization” and all the above “lightness” are conditional. Before us is a full-fledged G-SHOCK with its unique strength and resistance to all kinds of loads, a Carbon Core Guard structure case (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), a water resistance of 200 m. In this sense, nothing to do with the Casio Baby-G collection, reminiscent but really lightweight, both constructively and functionally, is not here. Perhaps the GMA-S2100 is aimed at women, however, we repeat, this is one hundred percent G-SHOCK, wearable for men as well.

Some femininity is manifested rather not in the dimensions, but in the color scheme of the new GMA-S2100. Perhaps it would be more correct to say that this is not even femininity, but festivity, up to the playfulness inherent in the modern youth style. And considering that it is summer now, and against the background of the current pandemic and fatigue from it, the Mini CasiOak watch is especially appropriate in the current market - especially at a price of only slightly above 130 euros. One has only to take into account that, although the release is not officially limited, the production possibilities are still limited - so you need to hurry up with the purchase.

The GMA-S2100 is available in black, white, pale pink and dark pink with rose gold accents. And, probably, by the summer season, the most elegant is the pale pink (so-called salmon color) model GMA-S2100-4A. However, the shade is quite neutral, which allows us to consider this version year-round.

The watch is powered by the extensively tested Casio 5613 electronic module; the battery lasts for 3 years. In the presence of a full set of functions of the modern G-SHOCK: current time (hour and minute hands are covered with the proprietary Neobrite phosphor), 12- and 24-hour formats, daylight saving time on / off, split-chronograph, stopwatch (accuracy 1/100 sec within first hour and 1 second for the next 23 hours), countdown timer, world time (48 cities, 31 time zones), coordinated universal time (UTC), automatic calendar that does not require adjustment until 2100 (with stylish retrograde day of the week indicator ), 5 alarms.

In addition to the non-edged one, there is also an electroluminescent (LED) illumination, and it is realized in the version "twin illuminator": both the analog dial and the digital display are equally illuminated.

The back cover of the watch is made of stainless steel, the strap is made of polymer material, equipped with a classic buckle and a quick-change system.
