Grand Seiko continues the birch forest theme with the new SBGZ009. This time around, this limited edition platinum case and dial are engraved to replicate the feel of birch trunks. As usual, Grand Seiko is very accurate in geography - this is the Yachiyo Forest at the eastern foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains. First, the surface is polished (of course, this is Zaratsu polishing), and then long grooves are cut. The hands and markers are made of white gold, the second hand is hardened, but it is not blue as usual - Grand Seiko managed to make it gray.
The smooth sliding of the hand is provided by the Spring Drive caliber 9R02, which was first introduced in 2019. The power reserve of the mechanism with two mainsprings located in parallel in one drum is 84 hours. Accuracy ±1 sec/day. Case diameter 38,5 mm, height - 9,8 mm. The issue limit is 50 copies.
