Creative Director Alessandro Michele's personal passion for jewelry is reflected in the updated collection - the third line of Hortus Deliciarum: “What I do is just research. Just like I do with clothes and other things. This is my way of working. I travel through a crazy world of stones, inspiration, history, trying to infuse passion and know-how into this area.”

Alessandro Michele used in the textured collection the name of a medieval manuscript compiled by the abbess of the Hohenburg monastery. The illuminated dome of sights, filled with poems, ornaments and color illustrations, served as a source of inspiration for Michele. The resulting jewelry embodies ethical and aesthetic value, bringing together different cultures and the splendor of rarities.

The new "Garden of Delights" is based on the idea of an imaginary Grand tour. Blending historical and architectural eras frozen in time and space, the collection immortalizes travel memories. The fabulous world that Michele immerses you in allows you to see and touch all the unforgettable sights in their original splendor.

The third collection of Gucci Hortus Deliciarum presents five sublime pastoral travel diary chapters.

The first theme recreates the splendor of the journey of European aristocrats and thinkers through continental Europe in the 18th century. Impressive mosaics created between 1850 and 1870 became part of the luxurious decorations. The set features the Colosseum, St. Peter's Square with Bernini's colonnades, the Pantheon, the temple of the goddess Vesta, the waterfalls in Tivoli and the pyramid of Gaius Cestius.

Michele has incorporated these mini-pictures into pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and brooches, framing them with diamonds of various cuts and a range of colored gemstones such as peridots, beryls, spinels, topazes, opals, tourmalines.

The second theme is based on the story of an imaginary journey to India during the time of the Maharajas. The vision depicts the colorful and varied architecture of the royal palaces, lush gardens and colorful silks of the Mughal clothes. Gemstones of fiery hues are in harmony with threads of intertwined gold, accentuated by diamonds and enamel.

Solitaire rings come to life with stunning pear or heart shaped gemstones. The presented multi-row necklaces and bracelets are decorated with yellow beryl, rubellite, imperial topaz, tourmaline and garnet.

The imaginary journey through the ages moves to Indonesia, Australia and Polynesia. The theme is dedicated to the pearl, which is a great symbol of femininity in art and culture. White, creamy and black pearls are paired with imperial topazes, multicolored tourmalines and diamonds to form a sautoir paired with earrings and brooches.

Hortus Deliciarum in the New World

Gucci Hortus Deliciarum jewelry: organic and round shapes replace solid and geometric ones with structural details

The fourth chapter of Hortus Deliciarum introduces the New World in the years 1930-1940, where modernism reigns and skyscrapers reach the sky. Forms move from organic and rounded to solid and geometric with structural details. Amethysts, aquamarines and blue-gray cushion-cut beryls are scattered on asymmetrical chains with flexible modules. Striking earrings and center pendants are set with stones set in baguette-cut diamonds.

The last chapter of a long travel diary takes you to the 1970s. Free expression and pop culture open up foreign worlds and relationships. Memories are turned into precious amulets that protect the wearer's ideas and visions. Psychedelic colors and fantastic shapes mix absolutely without limits. Of particular note is the sautoir necklace with a stunning 172,4 carat Colombian emerald.

Unusual not only because of its incredible size, but also because of its unique portrait cut, the hexagonal stone is like a painting. Michele complemented it with a geometric white gold chain with diamonds and adorned with red enamel griffins, reminiscent of the claws of a mythical beast.
